I started visiting Reno in 2018 and instantly fell in love with the retro casino and motel signs. I started drawing them for fun, sitting in a little camp chair with my pencils and erasers (there was a lot of erasing). People walking by were curious about what I was up to and often stopped to chat, usually telling me the reasons they loved Reno too.

Turns out it was a fortuitous time to be documenting these signs as many of them have since been taken down to make way for new developments. To commemorate the signs that are already gone I drew some of them from pictures. These sketches grew into Neon Reno, a coloring and activity book that I self-published in 2020.
